Kellogg’s oak (Quercus kelloggii)

I have used this wood from the foothills of California for many years and always enjoy it. Though softer than eastern oaks, I feel it has much nicer color and texture. When quarter sawn it shows beautiful ray flecks. I also like to use it when making drawers.
